Evelyn and the doctor

Evelyn had a doctor’s appointment today. For the first time in 2 years (i.e. since she was born) she didn’t cry. Dan and I were totally surprised! She got a bit scared when the doctor checked her ears and blood pressure, but didn’t fight us (usually the two of us have to hold her down) and didn’t get scared. What a big girl! We’re not sure exactly why she changed. It could be that she’s just older and can understand better what’s going on or maybe it was that we brought her to my doctor’s apppointment last week and she saw that it didn’t hurt me. In any case, it seems to be one less thing that we have struggles with!
I have been off work for 1 week and 1 day and it’s been great to finally get some errands done! We have found storage space in Alberta for the stuff we are not bringing to Dan’s parents place and we have done a number of other small but important things. I have an appointment at the spa next week with the gift certificate from my co-workers and we’ve been making a list of restaurants and cafes that we want to visit in Montreal before we leave.
I have bought some Hemp Babies diaper liners from Bummis and have been using them over the past 2 months. I have been very happy with them. Previously at night I had been putting Evelyn in a disposable diaper since there cloth diapers were not enough to keep her dry over 11-12 hours. I had tried using 2 diapers, but it was too tight and Evelyn got diaper rash when I tried it. However, with the liners I am able to use cloth diapers at night and also when we go out during the day. So at this point we are using about 1 disposable diaper a week, usually when we wash her diapers.
