So Evelyn went from “Oh my Gosh don’t put that horrible thing near my face!” to “Oh, ok” with respect to bottles within a week. Seriously. I used all the tricks I described in the post below. Once she would let the nipple in her mouth she didn’t know what to do with it and chewed on it or just swallowed the milk as it dripped in her mouth. After two days of this she finally started sucking. She was still very upset if she saw me and would try to throw the bottle away a lot but she did eat a bit. Yesterday she took the bottle in the stroller without complaint and today she would even take it briefly in my lap and at the kitchen table without a care in the world. I guess she finally realised that I’m not trying to harm her or give her food (evil!!!!!). She even took a bit of forumla in a bottle, although without the same gusto. Go figure!

We had our first “Mom and baby salsa class” today. Two things. First, I can’t dance. At all. But that’s ok at least I am getting a work out trying. Second, Evelyn did very well not being too scared of people (she was in the sling so I think that helped) for about 40 minutes and then suddenly decided she hated being with all those “other people” and started crying. So we left the class a bit early. We will see how she does next week, but it’s a promising start, unlike the swimming lessons.
