So the sun finally made an appearance after a cold and dreary week! In fact, it was so dreary that our Oxalis plant started turning its leaves to the lamp rather than the window. Well, even though we only had a few hours of sunshine today, it was really great.

During Dan’s video chat with his family today he somehow got on to the topic of French Macaroons. I tried to find a good review online and found this page which rates the ones from the Grande Epicérie as the best they tested, a 9/10. Yeah, baby. As they say.

The concert was good except for the hour of instrumental Mozart preluding the actual singing. That’s all I’m going to say about that.

I’ve been too busy to go to the markets lately so I’ve been forced to buy fresh fruits and veg at the nearby IGA. Man do I hate that grocery store. And somehow over the past two months they have actually made the fruit selection worse. They used to sell all sorts of plums, pears, nectarines and exotica such as lychee and kumquats, but someone decided to scrap everything except apples, bananas and oranges and then fill the now empty spot with ice, put a few melon halves and pre-packaged fruit mixes out there and leave it at that. Excuse me, but I want my darned plums back!!

There is a sinkhole at the corner of Cote St Luc and Cavendish. It has been there for two months. It is bubbling water. Nobody has done anything to fix it yet. By this rate, it will be winter before it gets looked at … interestingly, it was supposedly fixed last winter. I really should take the time to go take a photo of it. At least it isn’t as bad as the pic above! Did you know there are 48 days until we move?
