Today I am home sick (see following post) and guess what arrived … a camera! My Dad bought a new camera and sent me his “old” camera as a Christmas present. How nice is that?

So, for the record
Number of digital cameras we have owned: 2
Number of digital cameras we have paid for: 0

The old camera was a freebie too because Dan won it when he was working at the computer store that shall not be named. They took product training from Epson and for whatever reason Epson gave away two new digital cameras to two people who took the training in Canada and Dan was one of them! As you can see in the picture above its not much to look at and compared to today’s cameras its not much better than a Daguerreotype with its measly 1.2 megapixels and serial connection cable, but remember this is one of the very first digital cameras! Ah, our trusty old PhotoPC 750Z … you have travelled to so many places! Washington DC, Vancouver, Seattle, Amsterdam, Paris, Liverpool, London, Copenhagen, Rome, Montreal … how wise you must be with your age!

We got it in 1999 (or 1998, I can’t recall) and try as I might, I cannot find any photos from before 2000. In the user’s manual they warned me that there would end up being a lot of images and that I should name each one and save it into a master directory and then make backups, but did I listen?? No … and there are 1-2 years of missing photos. Oh well.

The Epson is dead, long live the Cannon!
